Site location and preparation

Choose an open site without obstructions. Use our detailed site layout diagrams to locate the foundation points for the type of tower you have chosen.

Foundations

Dig the foundation holes and pour concrete to secure the foundation bolts and anchors supplied with the turbine. Prepare conduits for final cable runs.

Assembly

Joliet wind turbines are assembled from the tower base upwards. Fit the tower sections together on the ground. Tilt up towers should be attached to the central foundation point, free standing towers will be mounted with a small crane. Attach the turbine to the head of the mast, run the cables through the tower, fit the blades and nose cone.

Tower erection

Raise the tower to vertical. This step depends on the type of tower chosen. Secure the tower to the foundation bolts or/and guy anchors.

Electrical connections

Connect the power supply cables and data transfer cables to the appropriate terminals on the controller. Connect batteries if used, and your selected inverter.

Commissioning

Check your installation, grid connected systems may require inspection by a third party, before running your wind turbine.
